Privacy Policy

Overview
This policy explains what happens to your data when you use ToolForge. We've tried to write it in plain language rather than dense legal boilerplate.
Client-side tools
Most tools on ToolForge (text, developer, converter, calculator, and security tools) run entirely inside your browser using JavaScript. For these tools, your input — text, passwords, numbers — is never transmitted to our servers. We have no way to see it.
Server-side tools (PDF & image processing)
Some tools, such as PDF merging or image compression, require processing on our server because your browser alone can't perform that work. For these tools:
- Your file is uploaded, processed, and the result is sent back to you for download.
- We do not keep a copy of your uploaded file or the generated result — both are deleted immediately after your download completes (or after the request finishes, if something goes wrong).
- We do not inspect, read, or analyze the content of your files beyond what's needed to perform the requested operation.
Uploaded files are never public
Files you upload for processing are stored in a non-public temporary directory that isn't accessible via direct URL, and are deleted automatically as described above.
Cookies & analytics
We may use cookies for basic site functionality (such as admin sessions) and, if enabled, analytics or advertising services to understand site usage and support the free tools with advertising revenue. If analytics or advertising is active, third-party services (such as Google) may set their own cookies subject to their own privacy policies.
Advertising
ToolForge is free to use and may be supported by advertising (such as Google AdSense) once approved and enabled. Ad networks may use cookies or similar technology to serve relevant ads; you can typically manage ad personalization through your browser or the ad network's own settings.
Third-party services
Where a specific tool relies on third-party infrastructure (for example, server software used to process PDFs), that processing still happens on servers we control — we do not send your files to unrelated third parties.
Data we don't collect
We do not require an account to use ToolForge's tools, and we do not ask for or store personal information beyond what you voluntarily submit (for example, through the Contact form).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as ToolForge evolves — for example, if we introduce new features or services. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when that happens.
